This is an area many small lakes, streams, and a water fall named Frazier Falls, located in the Tahoe National Forest. Elevations range from 5,000 to 6,500 feet. Some lakes can be driven to, while many others have to be hiked into. The largest lake in this area is Gold Lake, with two launch ramps, a resort and a underdeveloped campground. There are a number of other campgrounds in the area.
The spectacular beauty of this area make it a popular hiking, camping, boating and fishing area. Golf Courses and horse back riding are also popular. The many resorts in the area are normally booked up a year in advance.
