This giant lake features four main lake arms, in addition to the main part of the lake located near the dam. These four arms are fed by the McCloud River, Pit River, Sacramento River, or Squaw Creek. Each arm is like a separate lake with thousands of coves and inlets between them.
There are 14 boat ramps, 12 campgrounds, 12 marinas, lakeshore lodging and 400 houseboat rentals.
