This little lake is a must see if you are traveling Highway 395 between Bishop and Mammoth Lakes. The setting is beautiful with crystal clear waters and mountain peaks seeming to rise out of the water.
Primarily for fishing, there is a boat ramp, 88 campsites, 23 housekeeping cabins, small store and a restaurant. A nice feature, is a hiking trail, that goes completely around the lake.
In addition, hikers can hike an 8 mile canyon pass to eight more lakes in nearby John Muir Wilderness, which is part of Inyo National Forrest. Horseback riding and bike rentals are also available.
