Clear Lake is a natural lake and not a reservoir, it is the largest natural lake in California. Aside from great fishing if has just about every possible water sport available, and all at one of the prettiest places in the state, located in the foothills of Mayacmas Mountains in Lake County. The lake features nearly 100 boat ramps including 10 of them free. There a dozens of resorts and campsite surrounding it. You can enjoy camping, fishing, hiking horseback riding, biking golfing, rockhounding, and glider flights. Plus winery tours, and visiting Indian archaeological sites. The lake is dotted by a number of towns the largest two being, Clearlake and Lakeport.
